Whether you have lived in Green Bay you entire life or you a Freshman that just moved here, you can always switch up your routine and try something new. Here are some recommendations of fun, moderately priced, covid-friendly endeavors you can embark upon here in Green Bay, Wisconsin from myself and my fellow UWGB students.

Let us talk about: coffee

College students live very busy lifestyles, and to keep up with those lifestyles… we need coffee. One of my favorite places to stop is Daily Buzz. Junior, Lydia Burg likes Daily Buzz because “…it’s a great place to study and hang out with your friends. The coffee is great as well!” From charcoal-infused drinks to CBD-infused drinks, they truly do it all. Kavarna is another popular coffee shop amongst students, as the environment is very inviting, the drinks are made well, and there is more than enough space to sit down and study.

Let us talk about: Titletown District

This section will come as no surprise for any Packers fans, as our beloved, Lambeau field is right down the street! If you’re looking for a great place to eat, a unique playground for children, or an ice-skating rink in the winter… Titletown is the place to be! With monthly events, like a “drive-in movie on the ski hill”, you’re sure to always have something fun to do!

Let us talk about: Green Bay Botanical Garden

A beautiful array of greenery in the summer months and a marvelous assortment of multi-colored Christmas lights and horse-drawn carriage rides in the winter months. Junior, Hallie Mannenbach thinks “…the lights in the winter time are beautiful, definitely would recommend!”

Let us talk about: breweries

If you’re looking for food with outdoor seating accommodations for social distancing, Green Bay’s local breweries might be the way to go. Numerous students have raved about how great Copper State Brewery is, and also Hinterland! Senior, Cameron Makurat believes that “Copper State Brewery has amazing sandwiches, my favorite is the Maple Whiskey Bacon sandwich.” Check one out if you’re in the mood for some yummy food or a craft beer (if you are of age).

Let us talk about: hiking trails

A lot of our students, including myself, enjoy walking along the Arboretum trails that surround our Green Bay campus. It’s a great chance to “get away” and de-stress from whatever life throws your way.

And finally, let us talk about… Lambeau Field!

Even if you’re not a Packers fan at heart, visiting the stadium, tailgating in the parking lot and even watching a game in person can be a great experience! No fans are currently allowed in the stadium on game day due to the coronavirus, but it is a recommendation for when the stadium opens back up to the public!
