10 ways to get to know your roommate

Moving in with your a new roommate can be stressful and exciting at the same time. Are you going to best friends forever? Or polar opposites? Regardless, we composed a list of things that will help you “break the ice” and get to know your new roomie!

2. Go to Wednesday Farmers’ Market together
Take advantage of this downtown Green Bay summer favorite while it lasts! Farmers’ Market on Broadway runs every Wednesday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. until September 26. You still have a few more weeks!
3. Experience something new together
Try a new cusine together (Green Bay has a lot of great resturants to offer!) or visit somewhere you both haven’t been.
4. Show them pictures of your pets
It works. Every time.
5. Go on an adventure together
Whether it’s exploring your beautiful new campus, going to Door County (especially if one, or both of you, are out-of-state) or taking a tour of the city of Green Bay, adventuring together is the best kind of bonding!
6. Go grocery shopping together
Grocery shopping is a good way to find out what your roommate likes and vice versa. You can surprise each other from time to time by buying each other your favorite treats!
7. Join a student organization together
You have more than 100 to choose from, and you can browse all of them at Org Smorg. Find out what you and your roomie have in common and make even more friends together!
8. Get a workout in at the Kress
Even if your roomie is into weightlifting and you prefer running, you can definitely find something you both like by looking at the group fitness schedule!
9. Take a tour of Lambeau Field
If you and/or your roomie haven’t toured the crown jewel of Green Bay, Lambeau Field, add it on your fall bucket list before the snow falls. Plus, it’s a great way to learn which team your roomie pulls for…
10. Spend time with each other and talk
As simple as it sounds, communicating with your roommate is important! During all the fun bonding you may want to address any pet peeves, allergies, preferences and expectations you may have.
