10 Places within an hour bike ride from campus

Take advantage of this beautiful time of year and take a bike ride! If you you didn’t bring your own bike to campus, try the new LimeBikes ($0.50/half hour with student discount!) and start exploring Green Bay! To get you started, here are 10 places that are within an 7-mile bike ride or about an hour or less ride from the UW-Green Bay campus.
1.Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary — 2.5 miles
Park your bike, and go explore what the Wildlife Sanctuary has to offer. Make sure to bring some cash to buy corn for the geese!
2. Bay Beach Amusement Park — 3.0 miles
What better way to spend a summer day than riding a bike to Bay Beach to ride Elvis Presley’s favorite, Zippin Pippin?! Tickets are 25 cents each, and you need only 4 to ride the rollercoaster.
3. Wequiock Falls— 3.2 miles
If you want to see this waterfall in all its glory, the best time to go in in the spring, but summer and fall make for a good time to hike in the area.
4. The English Inn — 3.7 miles
Ride your bike to lunch and have a delicious fish sandwich! PSA: they have baked brie, too!
5. Hill Top Café — 0.5 miles
…Speaking of lunch! If you are looking for a more casual, inexpensive choice, Hill Top is an all-time favorite! Enjoy a burger after your ride, you deserve it!
6. Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe—4 miles
…for dessert. Home of the best Kringle in North America!
7. The ARTgarage — 4.3 miles
Find out which exhibitions are currently on display and surround yourself with artwork by community artists!
8. Leicht Memorial Park — 5.1 miles
Stop at a grocery store on the way and get your favorite picnic items! If you decide to save this trip to next summer, make sure you check out Tall Ships Festival.
9. Red Banks Alvar State Natural Area — 6.6 miles
If you are looking for a workout, ride your bike to this beautiful nature preserve and go explore!
10. Wednesday Farmers’ Market (Broadway District) — 5.4 miles
Bring a bag or basket with so you can load it up with fresh veggies straight from local farmers!
